At 10:00 a.m. this morning, Rotarians across the Midwest stepped off together in spirit for the World's Largest Polio Walk, a coordinated effort to raise awareness and support the global fight to end polio.
Members and friends of the Waukesha Sunrise Rotary Club joined the movement at Frame Park in Waukesha, walking along the Fox River to show their commitment to a polio-free world.
While participants gathered in their own communities and walked their own routes, they shared one common purpose: supporting Rotary's decades-long mission to eradicate polio.
Since launching PolioPlus in 1985, Rotary and its partners in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative have made extraordinary progress toward eliminating this devastating disease. Yet the work is not finished, and continued awareness, advocacy, and support remain essential.
The World's Largest Polio Walk demonstrated the power of Rotary's network, bringing communities together across the Midwest at the same moment in support of a shared goal.
Thank you to everyone who joined Waukesha Sunrise Rotary this morning, and to the Rotarians throughout the Midwest who stepped forward for this important cause.
Together, we walk toward a world where no child has to suffer from polio.
End Polio Now.
