On January 27, 2025, we pause to honor the memory of the six million Jews and countless others who perished during the Holocaust. This somber day is a time to reflect on one of humanity’s darkest chapters and to recommit ourselves to the pursuit of justice, tolerance, and peace.

The Holocaust serves as a chilling reminder of the depths to which hatred and intolerance can lead. It also highlights the resilience of the survivors and the courage of those who resisted. As we mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, the words “Never Again” echo louder than ever.

The theme for this year’s commemoration, “Remember, Educate, Act,” reminds us of our shared responsibility:
    Remember the victims and survivors.
Educate current and future generations about the Holocaust.
Act to prevent hatred and bigotry in all its forms.

In a world where hate speech and intolerance are rising, the lessons of the Holocaust are more vital than ever. We must remain vigilant, ensuring that the horrors of this genocide are never forgotten and never repeated.

As Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor, once said: “For the dead and the living, we must bear witness.” Today and every day, let us honor this obligation by standing against hate and fostering a world rooted in empathy and understanding.
