Doing Good in the Community

Waukesha Sunrise Rotarians have been out and about in the community making a difference in this 2011 holiday season.

Over $600 was collected from club Rotarians to sponsor turkeys or hams in the Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets.  This sponsorship was granted to the Waukesha Food Pantry.

Just completed was the annual Bell Ringing for the Waukesha branch of the Salvation Army.  Rotarians, spouses and friends rang the familiar sounding bell of the Salvation Army for 12 shifts, over 2 days at one of the local grocery stores.

Additionally – Waukesha Sunrise Rotary adopted 3 families with 10 children in the annual Christmas Clearing Council efforts.  These three families will have a brighter holiday season.  Individual and club donations of over $600.00 made this effort possible for the 10 children to have a brighter Christmas.

Waukesha Sunrise Rotary was awarded a grant from the Rotary International District 6270, which will help fund a family birthday celebration for children.  This effort was done with the Waukesha Food Pantry as a partner.  Rotarians will be sorting the food items for the Birthday bags to make each child special on their birthday!
